Note that this top list reflects my favourites at the RPG, but they are all surely stories I will hold with me for a long time. OK, now my favorite top!

The first time I looked Higurashi, I really wasn't sure what to expect further. After the first 4 episodes, I was totally enthusiastic, and from that moment I began to look. It wasn't until the second season that things finally started to form a plot, and that is when I finally realized my love for the series.

№5: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

Higurashi

Rika is one of the most charismatic characters I've ever encountered in any work of anime, and her interesting story was really intrigued. You truly felt a part of the experience, that hopelessness, and you truly wanted to see them succeed against the overbearing odds. And they did not always win, that it is what made it so much more of an experience. It was a truly impacting anime for me...

№4: Gurren Lagann

Gurren Lagann

WoW! Anyone who's seen it already knows why I so have reacted. The most brutal anime ever, it is completely over-the-top animation and crazy plot, everything about it... It knows exactly what it wants to be, and does it mega professionally. But it doesn't compromise a genius plot or meaningful morals for awesomeness either, it keeps it all in full tact somehow. One of the few animes in which unusual explosions don't detract from the depth of the story at all. It is really entertaining, truly bewitching, and really stunning! Gurren Lagann really tears a brain!

№3: Umineko no Naku Koro ni

Umineko

OK, is it fair that both of them get up there? This is quite a recent one, but has already become one of my main favourites. I understand that when compared to the Visual Novel, they cut out a LOT of stuff to make it fit into twenty six episodes. But the 1st time I watched it, I was really delighted.

I love Higurashi, and I not expected anything by 07th Expansion would succeed what was already such a great series. But I was absolutely wrong, Umineko went above and beyond. With each new episode I watched, the series seemed to become more and more interesting and fascinating. I love works of anime fiction that allow me to use my impressionable brain, and my brain has never had as much of a workout as after viewing of this intellectual anime.

№2: Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle

Tsubasa

I adore this manga action. Most people have labeled Tsubasa as average, nothing especially special. And while I will agree for the first seasons of the anime series, the manga begin taking it in a completely different direction.

I mean sure, I loved the earlier parts in of the story, I just felt especial affinity to the nature of the plot that few others would. I love it on a subconscious level. But it's when the plot takes a dramatic turn that the story shows it is real greatness and true colours.
The later half of the plot becomes so heart-rending and tragic that you can't help but feel emotional for the characters you've come to know over such a long period of time.

It is truly all a huge experience that you have to realize for yourself when you read it. The ending was very amazing. Sometimes the plot gets very unpredictable and at times confusing, but if you take the time to think about it, it is a really thought-provoking and stimulating story.

№1: Clannad

Clannad

I love this Visual Novel for so many different reasons. The lovable humour, wonderful and amazing cast of characters, the life-changing messages and the powerful emotions the story puts forth.

By choosing how the main hero responds to different situations, you become the main hero yourself, and you really begin to feel the impacts of your decisions. There's this great idea that you need to fall before you can find really happiness in this world, and I think that it really wonderfully.

Clannad — Baseball

Besides it, I perhaps have found the candidate at Number 6, it Wipeout on Axn Asia. I only have started to look, but definitely I like a plot.
